Sydney based Fiona Smith is our latest featured artist - Fiona paints in oils from her home studio, but only when she is not being badgered by the magpies, kookaburras, butcher birds, lorikeets and the lone cockatoo who come by daily!
"It is not at all incongruous that my birds appear in interior settings. That's how it is, from time to time, at chez Smith. In my paintings, they are portrayed in domestic arrangements of beautiful objects against highly patterned backgrounds. The paintings are a pastiche of designs that I find interesting from times past and some of my current fascinations"

The White Lotus Macaw is a delight to assemble. The quality of the pieces, plus their cut and color, is exceptional. I especially like that there are three distinct areas (bird, chair, plant) in the design, enhancing but also simplifying its intricacy. I look forward to tackling the other two I purchased in this series

A wonderful depiction of a Macaw by the very talented artist, Fiona Smith. I very much enjoyed completing this jigsaw puzzle and recommend it to all who have an interest in these beautiful birds.
